Should I Turn On Nvidia Reflex Low Latency in Valorant?

Should I Turn On Nvidia Reflex Low Latency in Valorant?

Latency is some of the prevalent issues faced by gamers. Talking about a few competitive FPS shooter games like Call of duty, Apex Legends and Overwatch.

There are many problems when it comes to response time during gunfights.

And Valorant is no different from all these games. As riot recently has added a new feature in Valorant known as Nvidia Reflex low latency mode.

A lot of gamers are still skeptical about what it actually brings to the table in terms of game performance.

Alongside, some think turning on Nvidia Reflex can result in low FPS than usual.

Therefore, we’ll be breaking the whole confusion and topic into one place.

By which you guys will surely be able to decide whether to turn on Nivida reflex low latency or not.

What is Nvidia Reflex Low Latency?

Firstly, let’s understand what actually is the use case of Nividia’s Reflex tool.

Basically, the Nvidia reflex helps in improving the system latency between the response time of your gaming peripherals.

There’s a millisecond time frame window when a person clicks a mouse button and the response shows up on the monitor.

In Valorant every millisecond counts as the one who hits the shots first holds a higher chance of winning fight duels.

Nvidia claims the low latency feature can significantly improve the system latency by 33% even for mid-range segment GPUs.

The feature is compatible with all the graphic cards from GTX 900 series to all the way to the GTX 3000 series.

In simple words, you must have noticed some intensive gunfights scenarios in Valorant or any other games where framerates significantly drop.

It’s because of the CPU back pressure of rendering too many frames in a quite small amount of time.

And here comes the Nvidia low latency feature in the picture which bridges the gap of render queue of CPU and GPU lifting off the back pressure from CPU. Resulting in faster response time and minimum latency possible.

How to Turn ON Nvidia Reflex Low Latency in Valorant?

Follow these steps to enable low latency mode in Valorant:
1. Open Nvidia Control Panel and navigate to Manage 3D Settings.
2. Over there, you’ll be able to find Low Latency Mode. Switch the mode to Ultra.

Note: You might see two options, one would be just ON and another one Ultra. If you are having any mid-range segment GPU, keep it turn ON and for high-end GPU for eg: RTX 3000 series, then switch it to Ultra.

3. Open Valorant and go to Video Settings.

4. At the bottom, you will see the Nvidia Reflex low latency, turn it to ON+Boost for the lowest input lag during your gameplay.

Conclusion

The results are clear after using the low latency mode in Valorant.

So, yes we highly recommend you keep the low latency mode turned on while playing Valorant for maximum and consistent frame rates while maintaining the lowest system lag.

One thing to look out for if you are having any mid-range GPU, consider keeping the low latency setting ON only.

Else, for any high-end GPU, turning it ON+Boost would be the most desirable setting.
